Persona non Grata
The Place, Robin Howard Dance Theatre | 24 January 2007 | As part of Resolution! 2007 | Set and costume design for dance by Katherina Radeva | Choreographer - Carlotta Miceli |
Dancer - Caroline Hotchkiss | Composer - Jim Slade
Persona non Grata is a piece about liberation and breaking through from one’s owns inhibitions. The set for the piece consists of a yellow rectangle on the floor created simply by gafa tape and a rich deep blue velvet drape. The set focused on the contrast of two very different materials and how they co-exist. The design of the costume reflected both qualities - the rough and the rich and was specifically sawn for the particular dancer, bearing her character, qualities and specifics in mind.

Daffodils
The Place, Robin Howard Dance Theatre, London,
March 2005 | Concept by Philip Amann and Katherina Radeva |
Choreography by Philip Amann |
Set and Costume Design by Katherina Radeva
Daffodils tells the story of four characters - people - travellers - two males and two females, going from one place to the next, in between places and experiences. The piece was inspired by the music of Maria Neikova, a Bulgarian singer famous for Walking Together, a song that formed the soundtrack for one of the Classics of Bulgarian Cinema in the 1960’s called The Goat’s Horn.
